Moorcroft Pottery
Moorcroft Pottery

Moorcroft Pottery has enriched select american homes with color and craftsmanship for more than three generations and The Mole Hole of Marshall is one of about 20 stores in the United States to carry this exquisite artwork. Moorcroft rightly regards the United States as one of its oldest and most loyal customers.

With a history built on supurb artistry dating back more than 100 years, Moorcroft is as strong and as lively today as it has ever been. The pottery is still made in the original, picturesque Moorcroft factory in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England.

Pottery from Moorcroft first arrived in 1904 for Shreve and Co., San Francisco. Tiffany and other famous American stores followed shortly afterwards. Early pieces of Moorcroft such as those made for Shreve and Co and Tiffany, have sold for huge prices in the major salesrooms of the world. In 1904, Moorcroft won its first gold medal at the St. Louis International Exhibition. In 1928, the art pottery was appointed "Potters to Her Majesty, The Queen" - an honor granted by the Queen of England herself and of which Moorcrofy was justifiably proud.

Today, a studio of six world class designers led by Rachel Bishop follow the example of their predecessors and together keep Moorcroft design moving forward to maintain the art pottery's tradition of design excellence.
